Gastronomic Wines Reflecting the Terroir of Entre-Deux-Mers

In the picturesque yet often overlooked Entre-Deux-Mers region lies Vignobles Despagne. For over two centuries, family history and innovation have flowed together, much like the Garonne and Dordogne rivers that embrace the area. Since 2003, Thibault and Basaline have been at the helm, driven by a shared passion for creating wines that not only reflect the terroir but also serve as perfect culinary companions.

Warmth, laughter, and good food. For Thibault Despagne and Basaline Granger-Despagne, a love for the finer things in life has always been instilled from an early age. “Our parents Jean-Louis and Odile loved to cook and often hosted guests; we were always at joyful tables full of wine and delicious food,” Thibault recalls. No wonder both he and his sister are such gourmets. When Thibault enthusiastically talks about the wonderful regional products and how to prepare them, your mouth will undoubtedly water. Yet, he remains modest: “I’m really an amateur cook. I love going to the market and cooking with fresh ingredients, but I’m just a simple guy. It’s Basaline who flawlessly elevates our wines with the most delightful food pairings.”
